Bit of a shot in the dark . . . looking for some info if anyone knows:
I'm wanting to get the tv in my bedroom hooked up to the sky box in the living room. I've tried a wireless transmitter/receiver and the signal is just not good enough. A technical friend advised me that connecting the 2 via a splitter and a cable is much better for quality of picture and sound and that Sky used to do this themselves, possibly pre-multiroom though.

I want to use the same box so I can watch anything I have recorded on the box on either tv.
I've now decided I want to do it via cable as our wireless broadband etc will probably mean too much interference.
I'm happy to pay Sky to do it but couldn't find the service mentioned on their website.

Rather than waste anymore time looking I was hoping someone here might know.

Anyone any ideas who I could get to do this properly?

You do not need a splitter , all that is required is to run a good quality cable from the RF2 socket at the back of the sky box to the bedroom. You can also connect a Tv link and get a second remote if you wish which will allow you to change channels on the sky box while you are in the bedroom.

Thanks very much for that Tony.

My preferred way would be to take the cable outside of the house and round the back to the bedroom rather than having the cable going through the apartment. Is it possible to pay someone apart from Sky to come in and do this? If so, do you have any idea how much it would cost? Also, do you know how much would a spare Sky remote be?

Its always possible to pay someone to do this but how much it would cost is impossible to say without seeing the route. I cannot tell you the price of the remote as advertsing is not allowed here but try the supplier sticky thread.

I guess I'll be making a call on Monday. Thanks for your help, very much appreciated.
