Going to Japan for a work holiday?

Hi, I am just wondering does anybody know if it is possible to get a holiday visa for Japan that would allow you to work for a few months? I met a German guy while I was away travelling in SE Asia this summer and he had been working in a bar in Tokyo before that for 1 year. Of course I never thought at the time to ask him about it, but I have always been crazy interested in going to Japan so working in a pub for a few months could be a great experience. Anybody worked casually in Japan before or know anything about how the visa process works?
    Thanks

Hey man, there are certain restrictions on the type of work you can do on the WHV, officially its places like host clubs, bars, nightclubs and casinos.

Depending on the employer you might get away with bar work, but if caught out you'd be deported straight away and probably face a ban form the country for 1-3 years.

Give the embassy a ring anyway to find out more info.
