2 problems, display and wired connection

Got my Slim here, played it a coupla times earlier no problem. Switched it on 20 minutes ago and the picture is black and white and grainy. Restarted, no change. Checked all connections, all secure. Updated from firmware 3.0 to 3.01, no change.

I've the PS3 connected wirelessly and it's on NAT 3. It's right next to the modem so I don't see the point in connecting it wirelessly as the modem sometimes drops the wireless connection. I've tried setting it up with an Ethernet cable and all that comes up is "Please insert an Ethernet cable". I've tried three different cables and the **** of a thing isn't detecting any of them.

Anyone able to shed some light on these problems?

Got the connection sorted, dug up another Ethernet cable. Odd since the other three are working perfectly on other things. Still no sign of improving the display though.

EDIT Got the display ok as well, for some reason it changed the colour output from AV2 to AV2S and left a black and white output on AV2. Guh.

Glad to hear you fixed it, all it takes is a little patience and to go over the obvious :D

But in future if your display ever meses up on you again or you turn it on and cant see anything on screen, put the PS3 on standby then press the on button but when it turns on keep your finger pressed down for about 5 seconds. This will automagically reset all the video settings so you can get it back working again in a jiffy.
