    Hi,

I have mail coming in on our Server (2003 - SP2) but need to redirect it to another address or at least set up some sort of notification to the sender that this email address is redundant. Anyone know can this be done.

Is this MS Exchange, is it just one email address or the full domain

    *@mycompany.com or myname@mycompany.com ??

You could setup an out off office if its one address, if its the whole domain you could setup an auto responce on the domain ,

or you could get your hosting company to add an auto responce

Unfortunately its not an exchange server so can put an out of office. The hosting company are being d!cks. You see our IT guy left and brought all the admin credentials with him and our hosting company wont redirect without them. Just wondering is there anything on the server that can be done.

A good start would be giving a bit of a shoeing to whoever let your tech guy go without getting all the admin credentials off of him first. Your hosting company aren't being d*cks so much as following correct protocol by requiring credentials before making changes to a business domain. That being said, they must have some process for escalating an issue like this.

Onto the problem at hand - if there's mail coming into the server, there must have been a mail transfer agent on it at some point. You need to find out what it is and reconfigure it. Check your installed programs on the server, and check what roles the server is currently used for (Programs > Administrative Tools > Manage your server). You may run into problems with administrative credentials along the way, but how you get around them depends on what credentials are required.
