I am trying to fill out insurance form for my mother, the electirc built in double oven was damaged beyond repair when it caught fire (due to been left on and unattended!)

The hob was a few feet away so it was not damaged.

The question - when replacing an electrice built in double oven do you also need to replace the electric hob also, despite being a 3 feet away from each other are they all the one unit?

    Oh the innocence. :D

No the oven and hob are bought seperatly. Has she an excess on her policy. Once i spent ages filling in an insurence form to fined out I had a 500 euro excess and the work only cost 520. It was hardly worth cashing the 20 euro cheque.

yes there is an excess of €200 however the neighbour had the kick in the back door to rescue my brother who was overcome by the smoke, replacement door cost €1,500.

Any idea what an electrician would charge for un installing a double overn and installing a new one, Based in Dublin so it would be a Dubplin price.

    thanks

I am sorry i have just laughed my head off at the image. I hope your brother is ok. You will actually need to get a quote from an electrician in writing afik.
