  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,111 ✭✭✭joker77

    Holy fecking sh*t - 3,000 for a pair!?!

Wonder how relative that is... I invested 900 Pounds (pre-Euro) into my Technics SL1210s in the late 90s

Wow, it really does look amazing...love the needle search function; VERY cool  Not to mention the link feature and they have finally the made the loop buttons bigger...wooooo! Cant believe they kept the SD card slot though...never seen anybody use it, surely USB is enough?

I'd love to know more about the software that comes with it...could this be the death of Serato / Traktor etc.?

Thats looks the business alright...but it seems to only read one CDJ at a time!? Surely controlling both CDJ's simultaneously should be any option?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,607 ✭✭✭VinylJunkie

Na the software is to prepare the tracks before you go to the club, save them to your usb then your ready to go in the club with all the saved cue points.

Basically its two cdj1000's with traktor all in two :)

Exactly, why not just use Tracktor and save yourself a fortune.
You could get a Hawtin-esque setup for cheaper

Very true, although Pioneer fan boys won't agree :)

    1,700 retail I've heard.

I don't think any DJ using any software already is going to rush out and buy a pair - anyway it's more likely a venue would buy the CD players and the only place I can think of spending the money to go out and buy something like these is Wright Venue and they're about 3 months too late to be specced into the DJ box.

Venues often go and buy pure sh!te to save money and leave it to the promoters to organise proper decks and mixers. Seriously, some of the gear i've seen in the finest looking places has been shockingly bad. TBH i think this isnt going to be a big seller at all. Anyone in the industry that knows what they're at just doesnt need to spend that kind of dosh to get the same results. And there's some kind of repression or decession or something going on, so i hear, so too expensive and no market.....
    CDJ2000=fail imho.

because some people just hate djing from a laptop.

i reckon theyve nailed it,its as close to a digital setup as you can get without having to use a lappy and a **** midi controller(yes someone will point out it basically is just a midi controller if you use the usb function)

and so ****ing what about the recession.honestly companys don think about that when they release a product.

i think theyve implemented some great features in it and reckon theyll sell well.
as someone said back in the day technics were going for outrageous money but they were the standard and people still bought them even though cheaper options existed
also with a hawtin-esque setup people never factor in the price of a laptop, which would drive up the price of a setup alot.

They're native controllers for both Traktor and Serato without the need for the box

Quantize feature is also nice, although I know some will call it cheating...Link feature is great thinking, as I imagine it would be annoying to have to organise 2 USB sticks for each gig.

    Absolutely.

Only vinyl can do that :pac:

Like the one in the background of that video promo!
Technology seems to be taking centre stage with a lot of people these days instead of the music, still i guess it beats looking at someone gawking into a laptop, stickin to me vinyl.
