Dunno if any of you Ripwave users have been notified or already upgraded but Imagine are rolling out their new WiMax modem for all Ripwave users nationwide over the coming months.

Got my free upgrade today, which couldn't have come at a better time as I was just about to dump IBB for UPC. Guy from Imagine came out and installed new modem which wouldn't allow connecting devices, the second one wouldn't pickup a signal but the third one worked perfectly and I'm getting full signal and 2.6MB/s download speed. He even took away my old Ripwave modem :)

The guy who installed it reckons they'll have 20MB broadband available in a few months and more areas will become available shortly. Either way they'll let you know when/if you're eligible.

Hi,what equipment did they supply you with? How much does it cost a month? And sorry one more question, does it matter where about you're living?
I've the (terrible most of the time, but also very cheap)ripwave modem and I'm in the north inner city.

I don't have a phone line or cable tv connection and not allowed to put up any external antenna where I'm living, just wondering what'll happen to my connection.Haven't heard anything from IBB.

    Thanks

So is this a mobile broadband replacement for Ripwave? OP at 2.6mb I think you should have gone with UPC!
