Macbook Pro screen turning yellowish

I have a 2006 2.16Ghz MBP. The display seems to be becoming more yellowish in colour lately. It is very noticeable. I am using the regular "Color LCD" profile that it shipped with, but I remember the display never had such a yellow tint as it has now. It seems to be growing more yellow over time.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

Would it be something Apple would replace? I still have applecare until the end of October.

I *might* be the ccfl dying. Thats what supplies white light to your screen in older lcd's (their swiching to LED's atm) and when they die they change colour. They usually turn pink, but perhaps they can go yellow aswell, and it would be a progressive thing (though with mine it used to warm up after an hour of use and the pink would have faded from it). In which case you would definetly be covered under apple care.

Of course this is assuming that the 2006 MBP was before they made their switch to LED, just something to look into.

    Nope...

It's definitely a lightbulb issue. Called apple and they told me to take it to a repair center. But since it's a not-so-obvious tint, I have a feeling they'll have a difficult time finding anything wrong with the screen.

I have that model of MBP. That's something to worry about...
