so I bought an a 96 jap SiR and it has central console which is nav system, tv, radio, cassette and cd. But its all in Japanese so is there a way to change to English and update it?
I don't want to take it out because it controls the Air con, maybe I can take out the cassette deck and put in the stereo.

Anyways I would like to hear what other people did who have the same car or suggestion on what can I do with it.

    thanks

I'm pretty certain there's no way to update it to english.

You can get a band expander to make the stereo get Irish radio stations.

there should be a box under the passenger seat .
i had a playstation plugged into it ,
but was only good for music games and NTSC dvd's would only come out clear on the screen .
    you'll need a power inverter,
when i had my siR i new it was useless havin the satnav ,
but after playing around with the box and a ps2, i got the most of it ,

wondering now could a ps3 be plugged into it , that would give you more options.
but as for actually using it for satnav i dont think so.
the box had gathers written on it .

also where the tape deck is a had a pioneer head unit in there
but the screen and headunit could not be on together for some reason.
it used to always blow a fuse,
the headunit was connected to the original speakers and subs and amp
the screen was just connected to the original speakers so if you were playing a game from the ps2
the sound would just come out the speakers and not through the sub and amp

    hope this helps buddy
its a decent piece of kit so you may as well get the most from it .

let us know how you get on

yea I have under the seat Gathers broadcast media tuner vs196( what is it for?) and the cd changer in the boot which is connected to the nav,tv,cd thingy , but id doesnt read mp3 so I might just change it to the new one for now.

In future when i get enough money I ll just put a hard drive in the back and computer/screen in the front instead that gps thingy
