Wasnt sure where to post this and thought somebody here might have the same issue.

Came home this evening and got a message when I tried to log into my msn saying I needed to download a newer version to log in. So anyway I download it and then tried to install, unfortunatley I am now getting an error message which says it looks as though another program is preventing the installer from working hr:0x80070643.

To be honest I havent a clue what Im doing wrong. Do I need to delete the other version 1st or any tips at all?? I cannot log into my msn at all now and need to sort it.

Is it spyware, mallware or virus by any chance?

Go to safe mode and run a full anti-virus scan.

Lots of people complaining about this over on Digital Spy, seems to be some issue with the new version. I'm stil using 8.5 and working fine here... until they lock out 8.5 later in the month. Not looking forward to it!

Sounds like that "System32" virus, check your "C" folder and if it's there delete it.

Sage advice there. I had the system32 virus a while back, feckin smoke coming out of the machine, could barely see the screen through it. Managed to get it deleted in the end though.

deleting system32 will destroy windows and render your installation of Windows inoperable basically fecking the PC. (The other posters were being sarcastic)!

    Infracted.
Never delete your system 32 folder unless you know what you are doing.
