More soon - I am in Dublin for the Ireland Italy game October 10th. Am unlikely to be in Dublin anytime soon again after that. Are peopel from here going to that game, or be interested in doing a night that night?

I'm in. Mebbe a seperate thread with a poll or something to see who can make it would be an idea? Folks who aren't going to the match can meet in a pub and watch it (or just not and have beers anyway) and the folks who are at the game can meet them later on. And a month should be plenty of time for those Munster Mulchies to get their horses and carts sorted to get up to the big city :p

Is this just a excuse for Orestes to gather all the CM punk and Rey fans in one location for beatings? :pac:

Chances are I'd meet the bauld gimmick for a pint if he was up either way, so why not. Even this turns an epic fail as far as everyone else showing up is concerned, Munster Mafia can have their AGM!:pac:

I could definitely do October the 10th and if I can find a ticket to see my beloved Azzuri I'd be well up for the match

Well so far we have Orestes, Bubs101, Gimmick, Flahavaj and myself (if im in the country) saying we'd do the night of the Italy game, which tbh is the best response any proposed PW meet up has gotten yet.

Well it looks like that's the date to run with so, how about cracking open the toolkit and sticking up a poll so we can get an idea for numbers?

Anyone got a suggestion for a venue?

    Poll added

remember its expected that the no side will win the vote but should there be a decent number of yes votes those who cast them should have their PW meet up.

and if you vote yes please post a reply would be good to have names to go with votes.

You can make the poll public dude, just edit it and people can see a list of who voted what when they click on the numbers afaik

As I do not really know Dublin, I do not know where to say? Though the one place I have enjoyed up "there" is Wexford St. A little less tossy than the rest of the city.

Every party needs a lurker. Every party needs a person who gets too drunk, drops trou and starts pouring pasta on the ground before disappaearing without telling anyone.

I'm that lurker, I'm that person. I'm in.

I run pubcrawls in the city so I know loads of places that might suit, I'll wait to see how the numbers look before I suggest somewhere though and I might be able to get us a section reserved or something like that too, could be handy for inding each other at the very least

So what would the idea be for this then? Watch the Ireland-Italy game and get poisoned with the drink or what?

I was thinking more watch the Junior Tipp Final that Agherlow won there from a few years back with the legendary Eddie Moroney commentary and get poisoned with drink but either way.....

Story so folks? This si about the biggest "yes" we have had for one of these yet. Can someone name a venue and see is it agreeable to the rest. I will not be joining until at least 11, unless there is an early start and i will be in early and feck off to the match a bit later.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,972 ✭✭✭orestes

Are we looking at watching the game in a place and staying there for the night after the game getting boozed up? Or are we watching the game somewhere and then heading somewhere else for the proper beering? Just wondering if we should be thinking of starting somewhere that will be open latish rather than 12.30 or whatever pub closing time is

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,972 ✭✭✭orestes

So are we doing this or what? I can try and find a bar tomorrow for us to drink in and might be able to swing some cheap booze specials (if my pub-crawl connections are still good, but I ain't promising anything!). But before I do that I need to know if people are interested or can make it and all that. C'mon boys and gals, work with me here dammit!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,820 ✭✭✭grames_bond

unfortunatley i cant make it, my sis is home so we've got some late dinner ****e planned! sorry!

oh if you are looking for a venue, citi bar are giving free pints if ireland win the match! (i know its unlikely to happen but would be cool)

you dont like sleeping do you, just got up and im about 7hrs ahead of you here, checking on my accomodation website and your still posting l:pac:.
    ---

This is a pity this never happened as this was clearly the most interest shown in a PW meet as long as i can remember being on this board. Woulda def shown my face had I been in the country.

I work nights dude, I'm about 8 hours behind the rest of the country. While everyone else is getting their arse out of bed at 8am to go to work I'm usually only going to bed
