Saw the trailer for this the other day looks like it might be a fun watch. :) Nothing could be worse than Diary Of The Dead anyway and I sat through that

Looks quite good. Defo worth a watch anyway. Any idea of the release date here?

That's the American release date. Don't know if that's world wide or not.

Imo it will be american shaun of the dead. mite be fun

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,839 ✭✭✭doncarlos

Brilliant movie. Well worth going to see and is a far superior to shaun of the dead. Although some of you Zombie fanatics might complain as
they are not zombies but diseased like in 28 days later

I'm a traditional zombie fan but this movie is just to fantastic to even worry about the running zombies. Not only the best zombie movie of recent years, but the best comedy (for me anyway) too. I loved it. For our interest, there is some solid practical advice contained therein.

I really need to see this movie. Maybe next week.

Saw it already (Dublin in cineworld Monday 5th). Don't have high hopes for this one guys. Shaun is far better. This is just chock full of Americana. Clichés and dodgy one liners.

The 'super amazing totally rad and awesome' celebrity cameo was a bit "meh".

I know what dya expect from a zombie movie, but it's real to me dammit! :pac:

I wouldn't buy the DVD or see this again, lets just say.

I am a tad disheartend at the Zombie snobbery thats going on here. A Z movie is a great movie regardless of its quality. Some of the best Z movies out there were so horribly written and had such shockingly cheap effects.

Again any Z movie imo is a great movie regardless of its origins/cost/scope etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,857 ✭✭✭Valmont

I found that this movie was far, far better than Shaun of the Dead. Both in scope and execution. I laughed a lot more too. If you're concerned about a serious zombie movie, this is far more serious than Shaun of the dead although it is still primarily a comedy.

The cameo a bit "meh"? !!
    Bill frickin Murray man!

AMAZING movie! watched it on the *cough* last night, good laugh and quite entertaining the way the story takes place, age rating is 16

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,789 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

It's a good flick, my not so legal version of it cuts out just after
bill murray meets the lead character ;)
enjoyed what I saw up to that though.

It is another one of these Zombie films that's a zombie film in name only. It's more infected people that everyone in the film calls zombies for want of a better word.

Scumlord you old miser, get yourself into the cinema to watch it, it's well worth it!

Best opening credit sequence of the year alongside Watchmen, I was in tears laughing at it

Judging by the trailer it looks like a ****e film..it really does. Have people who have seen the whole film agree with this?

Why would anyone agree with you when you haven't even seen it yet?

good movie , but not a good Zombie movie . Bit dissapointed to be honest .

It's a beautiful film... It illustrates the rules very well... could be a good training film for the young peoples

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 795 ✭✭✭smegmar

it bring back everything that good about zombie movies: sense of lawlessness, great zombie kills, some comedy, rules to follow, and of course more guns then the state of Texas!

Best Zombie/Comedy film in years. well worth the few sheckles... AT THE CINEMA (eh scumlord )

it doesn't take itself too seriously but it's still relevant to our cause here

Loved the movie and the rules!

has led me to believe I'd never survive tho after my fella explained he'd kill me to save his own life hmmmmm romantic date.

I loved it, seen it twice since Friday. :)

I don't know about that, in fact it's a very poor learning tool. Anyone that goes out trying to kill zombies with a banjo will quickly discover the human head is much more robust than a banjo and thus end up as zombie breakfast.

This film is purely for fun, if you go back and watch with with critical zombie survivalist eyes it's a very poor zombie defense training film. Not least of all because their are NO ZOMBIES in it!!!! :D

I can kill someone with a banjo. Edge on to the side of the head, trust me they dead.

I'm very skeptical, it's one thing to cause brain damage in the living with blunt force trauma but is that enough for a zombie or do you need to crack the nut?

Any hollow timber object (with little weight to it) is going to have a difficult time doing damage to a human skull.

You need to use the neck and fretboard, not the soundbox.

This requires some extensive testing, mythbusters style.

I saw it the last day, have to say I wasn't too impressed. I'm more of a fan of the epic-scale zombie movie like Dawn of the Dead directors cut with the newscaster giving a blow by blow account of the fall of civilisation, but this one didn't quite cut it.

The slow motion montages at the start were brilliant, but overall there was no feeling that you were watching a horror - even in Shaun of the dead you could get the creeps while having a chuckle, this just felt like a bunch of actors saying hoho, we're making a zombeh movie. It just wasn't scary, no tension. With that said I'll add it to the collection when it comes out, it might grow on me as time goes on.

The cameo was the funniest thing ever. I near pissed myself

I'm beginning to think I really need to see this movie when I get a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,857 ✭✭✭Valmont

I look at it more as a great comedy that happens to be zombie related to be honest. It made me laugh a lot more than ponder survival strategies. If you went in there and took it seriously and are all angry about the running zombies and the "unrealistic" kills then you have the wrong attitude about the whole thing.
