Is this route known to anyone? Its part of a run i would like to try but just wondering before i set off is it safe enough. Im a 15 stone 6 foot man and I regularly run at night. Its only really junkies/alcoholics/gangs of scumbags drinking cans under bridges im wondering about.

It looks like there is a path all the way from google maps.

The people you will meet are worse then those three combined.

I know the canal path along Kylemore road
Braver man then I to run past Labra Park at night. Stroll over to cycling forum and read about cyclists being stoned as they pass by

Maybe run it in the morning, the residents aren't up early and heading to jobs ;)

If you're in Inchicore go run in the Phoneix Park or even better there is the path along the Liffey in Chapelizod

I used to cycle that route as part of my commute from Drimnagh out as far as Clondalkin. I had one incident of a gurrier on a scooter bombing along the towpath & swerving across in front of me. Otherwise I had no difficulties.

As far as I know, however, the path is being redeveloped at the moment. It was blocked off by barriers for a few months towards the start of the year, & there have been diggers & workmen on it now for a few months. May have been reopened since, not sure as I'm not doing that commute anymore. Redevelopment was needed as it's unlit in some places & at night, unless you had good lights, you'd have been running thru potholes or over burnt out tyres without seeing them.
