Reprogramming Sky HD box

The house I live in has had a Sky HD subscription, and the Pace SkyHD box is still here. Partly working well, but wihout the HD channels available.

However, I was wondering if it was possible to flash the software in the tuner to turn it in to a generic HD Satellite tuner, enabling me to point the dish somewhere else and recieve other Satellite signals.

Being Norwegian, I would like to recieve the Canal Digital channels from `their satellite, and would love to be able to use this here, with my parents spare viewing card (they have "multiroom", but the 2nd room isn't being used) and my SkyHD box, flashed to become a generic SAtellite Tuner.

If the Hd channels are unavailable then its likely that your housemates arent either paying for a full subscription or if they are you should contact sky and find out why the HD channels arent working.

You cannot flash the software on a skybox to enable it to work with a different viewing card. Your best option would be to put up a second dish pointing to the satellite you want to view...you say ur norwegian so Im presuming this is either Sirius 4..4.8east or Thor 1 west

Im personally not sure if Thor 1 west is available here but if it is you more than likely would require a quite large dish..

Sirius 4 is available here but there are 2 beams one for europe and one for the norwegian states so again not 2 sure if you will get the channels you require even if you brought the box over....others here will surely be able to help more..

sky box can only be used for channels broadcast on the sky platform, Not other satellites.
you would need to point the dish at the other satellite.
