Sad news and after only hearing
an hour ago that that Darren Sutherland (Irish Boxer) had died. :(

RIP Patrick he was great in Roadhouse, Next of Kin and Donnie Darko
But his greatest role for me was Bodhi in Point Break, as he did most of his own stunts including skydiving out of a plane(don't think the Movie insurance people knew he was going to do that)

    Sad news indeed :(

    RIP Patrick!

Darren Sutherland, Patrick Swayze and Keith Floyd all died yesterday..

.. guess it does come in threes!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,976 ✭✭✭✭humanji

Keith Floyd too? Wow, they really do go in three's.

Will have to watch Roadhouse tonight, in honour of them (it's got food, fighting and Swayze).

    Thanks, dealt with. :)

Very sad about Swayze. while Dirty Dancing and Ghost werent my thing, Roadhouse is one of my favourite popcorn movies. Also his performance in Donnie Darko was excellent.

There isnt a household in Ireland who hasnt had some attachment to the man at some stage in the last few decades. :(

Only last week I watched him in To Wong Foo.
He made a great drag queen. :D

My wife will be watching her Blu-ray anyway. We only watching his bio on the Bio channel last week and was thinking it won't be long, makes it oddly poignant.

I'll be throwing on Donnie Darko tonight, for I will always remember him as Jim Cunningham, self-help guru with a dark secret!!

    Sad loss, RIP Patrick Swayze.

Just watched the Barbara Walters special with Patrick Swayze. It's a good watch.

To watch Parts 2 to 5 just mouse over the Screen Icons after each one finishes ..

Great presence on screen and a truly good person in real life. RIP Patrick.

Saw dirty dancing and wasnt a fan at all.

However I saw him in a film ( cant remember the name ) where he was like some Russian agent or some sort of special agent uncovering a big plot. Great film and kept my interest all the time.

Seemed a sound bloke and one of those celebrities that you just didnt hear about contraversially.

    Dirty Dancing
.. will be showing tomorrow night (Monday Sep 27th) at the UCI in Tallaght at 8.15pm.

Seen this recently at Cineworld at the girls were cheering throughout at everything Patrick did and said .. and he hadn't passed away at that point so it could be even worse tomorrow night :D

Great on the big screen though and I'm no fan of the movie .. Point Break in Savoy 1 and I'd be first inline :)
