Receipts, you need receipts for every transaction, most of the time you're making estimations. The key ones would be:
    • Accommodation
    • Associated Bills (ESB, Gas, Phone etc...)
    • How much you spend on food (a weekly shopping trip, keep the receipts)
    • Travel Expenses, how much you spend on fuel,
    • Child minding expenses (i.e. how much do you give your child minder, directly or indirectly etc...),
    • Start asking the family friend that picks up your child to make a receipt for the week, as in she fills out a bill for the week gives you the receipt and keeps the original herself in one of those double sided note books you see in hardware stores (get a book like this for her and get her to start using it),
    • How much have you spent on books in the past year, if you used laser or credit card you can trace this in statements, if not keep the receipts from all future book transactions, price the books you need for your course,
    • Essentially for about a week to two weeks keep every single receipt and transaction, no matter how small and work out a budget projection for the year.
They generally only want an estimation of expenditure within reason of course. Once you show expenditure over the course of a fortnight or so, you should be okay. The main thing is to keep every single receipt.
