A friend is looking to buy a new laptop and was asking my advice. He says he just wants it to play FM2010 and browse the internet. I have a feeling that he will want to play other games on it once he gets it though. Either way, he doesnt want to spend a fortune on it.

Could someone point me in the right direction so I can then point him that way ?!

p.s - here are the minimum specs for FM2009 - cant find ones for 2010
    PC Requirements
    OS: Windows XP/Vista
    Processor:
    - XP : 1.4GHz or Faster
    - Vista : 2.0GHz or Faster
*Supported Processors: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core, AMD Athlon
    Memory:
    - XP : 512MB RAM
    - Vista : 1GB RAM
    Hard Drive Space: 2GB
    DVD-Drive: 4x Speed
    Video Card: 128MB**
**Supported Chipsets - Nvidia FX 5900 Ultra or greater; ATI Radeon 9800 or greater; Intel 82915G/82910GL or greater.
Earlier cards may only display 2D Match Viewer Mode and are not supported. Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported.
    Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible
    DirectX: Version 9.0c (included)

if its just for FM2010 any laptop on sale thats over 350 euro would do fine.

An Intel GMA card poorly renders the 3D engine thats in it though, so unless he's willing to let the 3D bit go (which IMO is a complete waste anyway :pac:), then thats the time when you should consider a laptop with an ATI or Nvidia card.

this would be more than capable of playing FM2010, but with a slow 3D rendering on screen. Again, add another 100 or more euro onto that if hes looking for a laptop that renders some decent 3D images for the game

Lets say he wanted it to play flawlessly in 3d mode - what laptop would you recommend ? Also, is laptopsdirect.ie usually the best, price wise ?

its pretty good for prices, far better than what you would get in retail shops. also, the customer service on laptopsdirect is top notch, bought off them many times and had no problems whatsoever.

this would play the game to its full capibility easily, and more :D

this for more ram and a better graphics card, if he is interested in playing some other games but doesnt wanna splash out a fortune
