Does anyone have any idea when it's opening?

Sounds like a real bummer for freshers' week, not to mention all the other weeks :(.

And it's not just the pav that will be missed. The picnic tables and the cricket pitch were far better places to hang out than any pub/club :(.

I suspect there will be an aweful lot of on-campus drinking come next monday.
I wonder.......will such drinking be permitted in the usual areas (the top of the cricket pitch) in order to contain it, or will it be forced underground with hilariously ineffective results.

Seeing the pav with all that shít around it is awful. It's like seeing a relative on a life-support machine.

Seems ridiculous that it stayed open for most of the summer and is now in ruins for the start of the year. Still doesn't look in anyway finished either.

You should try France. Not allowed to have an on campus bar here...

That's a bastard so it is! Are you within proximity of a decent bar/café?

Pav is open again. Still has construction stuff on it and the work isn't finished, but it's open and that's all that really matters.

    yay!

    :)

I hope they are. There are hundreds(gross overstatement) of bigger and more suitable pubs in Dublin people can go to. Also student cards are a good way of keeping the Pav's license by not serving minors(stripe on the card changes length if <18 )

I think it'd be fairly **** for first years if they are strict on the student ID thing. A lot of people won't be registering until thursday or friday.

Are ye talking about being asked for ID fullstop or student ID? I'll be very annoyed if I can't get in til I register on the Friday. I look about 30 ffs!

They're not students until they register, if the rule is students only, well then, it by definition excludes them.
I admit I have no idea if there is a students-only rule, though I suspect that there is.

I think you're fine so long as one person in your group has a student ID. I know that in UCD you get one guest (ie someone with no student card) for each person who does have one, but I remember reading somewhere that in Trinity its unlimited (within reason) guests.

Personally I've never been asked for id in the pav. Think I was there during freshers week last year aswell.
