I'm looking to trade my car (04 corsa) in against a 99 civic and no garage will entertain me as my car would be worth more than the car I want.

Im trying to sell my car at the moment but recently found out that the gearbox is leaking so I think it will be hard to shift now. I dont want to fix it as Ive not got the money to do anything but put petrol in it:D

Any ideas on places that will give me a look in or any advice?

    Thanks

I wouldn't agree with you. An '04 Corsa and '99 Civic with be worth around the same. Maybe €500 difference? If you get a straight trade offered including a warranty on the Civic I say take it. Having owned a 2002 Civic and a 1998 Corsa (Both sets of cars have same 1.4 and 1.0 engines respectively) the civic is lightyears ahead.

Other option is to sell it privately as-is and hope for the best.

Why not look into putting your corsa into an auction. You can set a reserve price on it.

I would take 99 civic ant time of the year...

No offence, but those bouth cars cost around the same. And civic would be a better choise. Plus moust of young drivers would prefer civic :D

There could be a big difference in insurance for young males as well.

I'd say there are a lot of people out there who'd prefer a car that's 5 years younger, possibly easier to insure and less likely to be robbed.
