Got a gas barbecue and need to buy a regulater for it. I have the yellow bottle(supersare) and a red one with a colar. Will any gas do to run a barbecue or does it need a particular one, thanks.

Not to sure which reg you have. I brought mine to a gas supplier in Ardcath. It turns out it was propane and not Butane I needed. Most of the suppliers done Butaine gas. As rightly said its all about the regulator

So what i suggest is you bring the regulator when buying the gas and make sure it fits.

If you need a new regulator which you say you can buy one in most places the advantage of buying a regulator in somewhere like Woodies or Homebase. The advantage of buying the regulaor in these places is the gas bottles will fit them.

You can ask a specialist but from what i know butaine is more popular than propane and as its used out doors it wont matter which one you use provided you have the right regulator of course.

The manual that came with the BBQ should have the gas and pressure it needs listed. Some might say 0.4bar others may need higher pressure.
Propane is better at low temps than Butane.
You probably don't need an adjustable reg, just a clip on unit.
