ok i am looking for a much more quality guitar, i have currently a Aria ZZ-1 (New Model) and it's great but doesn't have quite the tonal varities i want and plus the black metal look has sort of out grown me, i am wondering which you think aria/epiphone or even any other choices, i don't mind and doesn't have to be a les paul but does have to have a good tonal range, i mainly listen to old rock but i do listen to loads of other stuff too, any opinions?

p.s. 1st pic is epiphone and 2nd pic is aria

I have an epie les paul standard. They are good guitars but i think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. At the moment i'm playing a strat with a humbucker and 2 single coils, this is a lot better than the LP for tone and pickup config (the pickups are EMGs so they are better than the LP). I find the clean tone on the LP very bass heavy. Ive never played an aria

Id say go into Xmusic and try ad many different guitars as possible until you find the one that suits you best

    whats your budget?

thanks i played an epi today in waltons and was very impressed but the neck felt a bit 'sticky' and could do with a heavier set of strings but nothing to write home about i didn't even find it too heavy was quite comfortable, i actually liked the bassyness of the treble, thats really the sort of sound i'm looking for but i will try out an aria pe in x music when they have them in stock, budget is between 400-500 at a push
