There's a perfectly reasonable explanation for that:

There's a ton of the biggish ones plus like 50-60 small ones. There's one particular one of about a foot and a half, he looks like a Carp/Mirror Carp thats been bleached white by the chlorine. First to catch him gets a gold star

Now that you mention it, amid the grime and coca cola cans you may get a rare glimpse of this:

Im pretty sure chlorine would kill anything living in/on the lake. Id imagine its a Crucian Carp, they're closely related to goldfish and they would be that colour!

I love how this poster knows within a range of 10 how many smaller fish are in the entire lake!:D

I saw that carp one,the thing is it has a patch of orange on it too,so is that normal or has the lake stripped it of it's colour?

    yes, i've seen one!

it does confirm that the lake is not a total cesspool

if it was a total cesspool, there would be no insects, and thus no swans/ducks

Not so, cesspools are brimming with life, you just wouldn't necessarily want to go swimming in them ;)

So, anyone want to pitch in and buy one of these babies for the lake?

I've got a guy who knows a guy who can get us a good deal if we take a Panda off his hands too.
Lets see them call UCD a concrete jungle when we have a panda and our very own Free Willy.
