I am getting the message "No Satellite Signal is being received." but when I checked the Signal Strength it shows around 80%.

The message suddenly came on screen when in use.

    What can be the cause?

EDIT- Did a search  and found a solution!

Apparently there are some major issues with a lot of channels tonight - had them myself and mentioned over on digital spy

There is no solution for customers , most likely a uplink issue since more than one satellite affected.

Indeed. An uplink issue no doubt.

I can see a lot of the movie channels are off air.

Has anyone discovered what the problem was.
Was it an uplink problem or a prob with the bird, or a solar flare ??

I never found a permanent solution. I thought it was my box so unplugged it and replugged but at the same time the satellite was fine again so I actually thought it was the unplugging that fixed it but 5 minutes later it went again! Wasn't a good night at all, channels going off and on. I still had this problem around 7am this morning. Was away whole day so no idea when they fixed it but all seems fine now.

According to a post on DS,

    Quote:
GlobeCast has been in constant contact with Eutelsat, the satellite operator since yesterday
evening and Eutelsat has confirmed that the satellite is currently unstable within its orbital
    position.
This is resulting in the fixed uplink antennas being unable to constantly transmit to
the satellite accurately causing intermittent loss to all services. GlobeCast are at this time
awaiting further information from Eutelsat who are working on resolving the issue as soon as
possible and as soon as we have further information, a further update will be provided. .
    ..end..

    thats what i was thinking..

If the Bird wanders off, what back up will there be?
I don't think there are any other eutlesat birds at 28.5
    SES will hardly offer support/carriage.

It will take some time to move another sat to that position

It will take some time to move another sat to that position
Up to 3 weeks it could take.

Depends on what fuel is left on board and whether they can figure out the correct burn time.

If it does happen to go completly without back up or taking 3 weeks to move another into position...im guessing Sky will have a field day on this...compo all round me thinks!;)
