i dont use it ,i have two original kammo jackets this 20 years or so when there wore out thats it .

your right noting looks as bad as a lad wearing it eating lunch in a pub or restaurant.

    cabelas dummy syndrome !.

deer see in black and white so light colors browns, grays, greens, are best.

my favourite hunting garment is a swanndri wool shirt in brown and grey check.

I went camo mad couple of years back real tree, advanage this and the other, but i lasted a season and find myself wearing solid greens and maybe throwing a old fca jacket on if need be, never taught looking like a bush would turn so many heads, everyone knows your hunting and a gun owner, that's not something i want to advertise..... but i've not prob with lads wearing it as it works well..........

No. You're not allowed to go around in a Garda uniform unless you're a member, for instance :D

Is it necessary? No, of course not :p but...

I wear a cammo boonie hat most of the year out farming, on the land, to the mart etc. I wear spectaculars so it's great to keep the rain off the lenses, couldn't give the remotest toss what anyone would think of it :D

Out foxing with another lad one night, stopped off at a mobile chipper in Clifden one night and went up to order in the full gear. Wearing it as it was a close night and that stuff was the right weight for the job. Chipper guy promised he'd get a potted palm tree to let me blend in but I ain't seen it yet!

I think each to their own, I'm doing nothing wrong so I've nothing to fear or hide from anybody :)

Well, they are a pain to find in anything other than "tactical black" or one form of camo or another. Took me a fortnight to find one in ordinary plain white for use on the range.

What are we to do when out for a days shooting bring the feckin wardrobe, and turn the springer into a sh1tsu with lovely pink bows.

True. I like them on windy days too, especially the one Garlands make as the brim is rigid enough not to be battered by a gale.

I was actually looking for a floppy brim though, to act as a flexible visor that would flop over the rearsight and act as a sort of blind:

Got a huge one in Crete, great for the sun but not the wind, so practically useless for me lol.

So thats what Al Quieda do for R&R then??? :D:D:D:D:D:D.
Yup,done the rave bit in Berlin a couple of years ago....solid 24 hours..
Long story, and will be a chapter in my upcoming memoirs;):D
Anyways,I'd be more worried about lads dressed up in NIKE,ADDIAS ,etc etc,as they are aping "Da Gangsta Bro" East LA Muta look and attitude.Which looks totally daft and intimadatory, not to mind totally stupid on white people.
Even saw one stupid twat down here walking around with his airsoft "piece" [I hope:eek:] stuck in his waisband "gangsta style" proably bought out of the "head shop".
Rather than be worried about somone wearing scruffy DPM,Flecktarn or Woodland and obviously not in any mans army.
BTW,get an Aussie "digger" style hat if you want a better element protector and sunblind.

Would Blaze cammo draw extra unnecessary attention?

IF the fox hunters wore jeans and cowboy hats do you think that they would have been any less likely to be banned.

Most folk assume the tweed and check wearers are just rich landed gentry wanna bes . They think the cammo wearers are red necks.

Why would you be worried about what they think of you?

In my opinion, when iot comes to pheasent shooting i try and keep it as respectable as possibe and tone down on any camo gear. I'l usually be seen in a brown sealand fleece and either green sealand trousers or just a pair of jeans with a pair of wellingtons (oh, and my cap). Nothing over the top.

My reason for this is simple.

if i happen to ask a farmer for permission i think looking respectable while shooting is of the upmost importance espiecally when it comes to first impressions. i think that with a landowner when push comes to shove he will allow a modestly dressed shooter with a well kept under control dog hunt his land, rather than a fellow dressed to the hilt in camoflauge who looks like he's about to kick off world war 3 at any given time.

thats just my opinion though, i do understand that pigeon shooting etc involves a LOT of cammo, but i dont see any reason why this cant be put on in the field when setting up.

Thats a load of bullocks, if and when your going through a ditch or over barbed wire and flitter the nice toned down sealand fleece or trousers, you will be out of pocket as you wont look real respectable with a nice big patch or white stiching on the tear.

The camo gear is great especially for rough shooting etc that other stuff is for the gentry or those that think they are toffs on a driven shoot, I see them every year with there nice cotton shirts and plus fours walking around the nice dry fields, go out and try walking around a bog or through some briars and see how long the plus fours and cotton shirt will last.

    nice post.

first of all i started by saying in my opinion.

First of all i wear the seeland gear and find it perfectly robust for rough shooting to hunting bogland. I live in the midlands so i have more than put it to use on swampy bogs and i have climbed over many a barb wire fence and not had any rips or tears. You obviously seem to have some sort of problem with people wearing seeland shooting gear like that citing it off as clothes for people "that think they are toffs on a driven shoot" as you put it.

This inverted snobbery is ridiculous. I personally am not a huge fan of camo patterns, so I wear dull greens and the like. If I could afford it, I'd have nice Seeland kit myself, as I rather like it and it's meant to be excellent quality. Wear what you like, and allow others do the same without passing snide remarks about "the gentry".
