Starts today - Scunthorpe to York
    8 stages in total
    17 teams of 5 or 6 riders - 100 in total
Wiggins is the biggest name. Roche is leading the AG2R team. There are also quite a few from the British track team taking part.

Australian Chris Sutton won the first stage, having won a sprint finish ahead of Italian Michel Merlo and Ben Swift of GBR

Wiggins pulled out after Tuesday's stage in Blackpool to concentrate on the World Road Championships in Switzerland. Apparantly he finished the 148km stage then promptly got on his bike and rode another 50km to his home in Chorley.

How is Roche doing? I was looking around the TOB site yesterday but could'nt find any section giving information about standings.

He's 25th over all 40 seconds back(lost 20 seconds in a crash on stage 2 (I think). Has been riding very aggressively and was away in a break that almost stayed away yesterday.

He had a crash one of the days, haven't heard much since.

And (48 year old) Malcolm Elliott is in 14th place, only 35 seconds behind the leader (6 seconds down on his team mate Downing)

There's hope for some of us yet:)
