Weird screw in amp chassis

Hi lads, what do you make of this?

    I recently got hold of a second-hand Mesa Nomad 55 combo. There's a screw
protruding from the underside of the chassis behind and between the two power valves. Pics attached, I think...

The screw is not loose, but nor can it be tightened any more. Peering through
the rear grill, it seems that the screw carries on up to the top of the chassis, bypassing the components there.

My first thought is that someone replaced a chassis screw with a wrong-sized
    one.

    Any thoughts or issues?

Open up the chassis and have a peek. It won't bite ;-)

That would be the errr... flux capacitor adjustment screw. :pac:

Many Boogie combos have that. It is something to do with minimising vibration transferred through to the chassis. Called a 'tension' screw or some such.

Shoot them an e-mail and im sure they'll give you a detailed explanation. Its nothing to worry about anyhow.

Fair play, lads. I was only worried that (a) it'd end up touching something live, or (b) it'd eventually rattle at high volume. Good to know that it's usual, if a little unusual...
