well there is your problem :p

on a serious note, i used to own an MG found them very unreliable. Dont worry about the fan, it happened on mine too. Its a very common problem with the MG series, and ive seen it on a few AVTs as well. On mine if a turned the amp off and on after 3-4 mins the buzzing went away.

As for the overdrive channel, im not too sure what the problem might be. I had a problem with mine on the clean channel, volume kept dropping, and the effects unit broke, didnt work half the time. I was quoted 80 euro for a new one, which i didnt get. These amps are not that cheap new, so if it is a big problem with the OD channel, and new parts have to be got, it may not be worth getting it fixed when labor is taken into account, considering how much they depreciate

sorry i cant be more helpful

There's hasn't been a decent MG bashing thread 'round here for, oh, at least a week!! :D

Sorry to hear your amp's on the blink, but unfotunatley these amps are cheap to buy and expensive to repair, and generally it's not worth it unless it's something really simple.

i could be anything just bring it back to the shop and get them to find out what it is, had a similar thing with mine, the sound fading in and out, turned to be only the soldering being loose, only cost me 30 euro so i'm happy, oh and seriously guys are you ever gonna shut up with your mg bashing, just cause they are solid state doesn't mean they are to sound good on low levels, it's different, plus the ppl who told me that they sucked also then said all fender and marshalls sucks, ok fair enough mgs suck but don't confuse facts with your opinion, sorry promise thats my last rant about this :P

whatever happened to just stating the obvious but then again if he bought it in waltons or somewhere like that then it's probably not such a good idea but soundshop in drogheda in brilliant for this type of stuff, best shop ever :)

There is nothing wrong with solid state amps, I own a line 6 spider 2, i wouldnt call it a Bad amp. I prefer valve amps, as i prefer the tone of a valve. However for 400 euro, a mg100 is the most overpriced amp for what you get. Look at them the wrong way and they break:(
