.net Framework installer keeps crashing

I'm at my wits end here. It says clearly I have .net framework 2.0 installed, yet the ATI catalyst centre will not load, as it requires .net framework. Same goes for some other applications that require it. I've downloaded 3.0 and 3.5 with no problem and again, about 10% through installation, it crashes.... any ideas? im…
