Not sure if this is the right area to be posting in. Im sure you ve all heard this and been through it yourselves before. This is part moan/part hoping someone will respond. Recently moved out of home and into the area with my gf. plenty of friends from town and back home but dont know anyone in malahide. basically im a bit worried about not making friend in teh area and being overreliant on the gf.

Freinds from home not making much effort to call out etc, and realised i ve more going out friends tahn good friends.

Basically im into football, running, cycling. Also all the usual such as going to the pub to watch the footy on a sat etc etc. Thought about joining malahide utd fc as a way of meeting people from teh town but reoccurring injuries prevent me from training and playing the way id like.

Kind of just wondering is there anyone out there from malahide in similar situation?

I had this problem when i moved from Rathmines to Rathcoole it seemed like whole different fecking world and to be honest i didnt really meet people proper till i started working in the local shop.

You mentioned you head down pub to watch football on a saturday well head down some Saturday or Sunday with your girlfriend and if you are a friendly you will nearly always get talking to people i always do in my local or most pubs i go to when football on.

If you smoke even better cause you will always get talkin to people out having a smoke its great way to break the auld ice. This has happened me so many times and i ended spending whole night drinking with these people.

i am from malahide originally, and dont live there anymore.
its a fairly clicky place, but in saying that, i cant see how it is that hard to integrate.
just go into the front bar or the sports bar of gibs on any given saturday and pull up a chair at the bar. there are loads of heads in there mad into their sports and the banter can be good in there.
Also the foorball team go in there after games on sat for beers after the game. It would be a good way to meet people, suss it out, maybe try and do some light training with them if possible.
