hi - I've had a Dunstar/solterra400 geothermal system for 3 yrs that has never given us a problem. I'm now think though before the winter I should get it serviced & as dunstar seem to have gone into liquidation I'm wondering does anyone in the Galway/mayo area know of a decent service engineer who might be able to do a reasonable job?
I have one person in mind who did some work for dunstar but he might prove difficult to track down!
    Thanks
    Liam

hi - pls see above text, I got a reply from a guy who said that r22 gas was being phased out? but it didnt appear here (only in the e-mail notification..), was this spam?
Any ideas on getting a heat pump serviced in the west?

"Virgin" R22 is banned from use from the 1/1/2010, comes under Kyoto and Montreal agreements, search under r22 phase out. You however can use recovered/reclaimed r22 for another five years, only problem at the moment is supply, very little available at the moment, of course you only need to worry about this if you're heat pump is leaking (which it shouldn't be).

PM if you need more specific links to info etc.

    Heatpumpman

R22 is not explosive or flammable, stock piling is illegal under EU legislation, from 1/1/2010 no virgin R22 can be held in stock, only reclaimed refrigerant.

    what company are you with?

Heatpumpman - do not answer that on public forum - PM only

    Al2009 - please don't invite company names
