    ... is that bizarre apparatus that has been outside the engineering building behind the rugby pitch for the last couple of days?

    It looks roughly like a big angled flat sun-powered still, and has loads of gurgling hoses and splashing water. I can't help but stare at it every time I walk past.

    focusing the heat from the sun on to the pipes which can be used for different things like hitting water and driving a piston.

    Doubtful, unless the Trinity builders have stopped pouring tar everywhere and have switched to using eco-friendly power sources for stair construction.
