i bought a vox ac30 cc2 from promusica in cork. works fine except recently i turned on the stand by switch, all fine but when i hit the power switch the switch sorta popped or something and now the switch is lying useless in the socket, the amps fine cause it can still heat up and everything but the power switch is broken
any ideas where to get it repaired? or how to fix it myself?

Surely if you only bought it recently it's still under warranty...bring it back to Promusica. If you're not familiar with working on valve amps that's the best option...lethal voltages and all that.

I'm not sure what you're describing to be honest. The power switch makes or breaks the power supply from the wall. Power off is like unplugging it. If the power switch is broken then it won't heat up, or do anything at all.
The standby is after the power switch and in "standby" usually breaks the valve plate voltage so that the valve heaters are on, but the amp is silent.

Don't try and fix it yourself, just bring it back to the shop.

I think you're mixing up the stand by and power switches.
You'd have turned on the power switch first, hopefully, followed by the stand-by.

Do you mean the stand-by is loose mechanically but still works, or it's loose and not working?

Anyway ProMusica sold it so they and/or Vox UK have to fix it, assuming it's still in it's warranty period. This is definitely should be your first course of action.
