I am just wondering is there any other way to change the date a car was registered in my name other than waiting for hours on the phone for the VRO to pick up the phone??

Wouldn't any other date than the actual date you registered the car be incorrect?

For a job like that, I'd be heading into the local tax office with full backup - receipts etc. etc.

How far out is the date? Why do you need to change?

The VRO are quite good if you call between 2 and 3.

Bought it from a dealer up here in Dublin, and they got it off some dealer down in Galway. Picked it up, go back my particulars and didnt really pay much attention to the registration date. The registration date was down as the middle of March sometime. And in between this time and the time I actually bought the car, it had a lot of trips up and down the M50 which has me looking at a €500 bill(Eflow sent me out 17 letters yesterday to tell me this). Hence I just need to change to date to the date I have on the receipt for the car.

I tried them today between 2 and 3 and i was just on hold for about 45 minutes. I'll try again tomorrow
