    Alright,

need 4 cheap enough laptops. had a look round some of the shops, $380 was the lowest in Harvey Norman for some Acer sub-brand, 499 for the dell 1545 (430 below) in pcworld.

any other suggestions? what about refurbished? and is it possible to bargain with dell on 4 of these at €430?

    Thanks

I'd take that spec from the Dell website, and ring their sales line. Try and haggle with them a bit (nothing crazy now) for a slight discount on each machine or even upgrades. If you could even get the 4 laptops with free delivery you'd be saving a bit.
What are the intended uses for the machines?

Spec your machines on the dell website and then give Dell a ring. You probably won't get a discount but you will get upgrades. eg 3 year warranty, hard drive upgrades etc.
