Was out for the last four days running. No bike today and look what happens. Typical.

physio told me to stay off the bike and do other excercise (mainly swimming - fat chance unless i go in the sea), better do what i'm told for once - all those gains slipping away ............................

Was lovely this morning, got new pedals on the raleigh and cycled to the train station. I say new pedals, they are 40 years old.

I was out on the bike quite a lot over the last number of weeks in the horrible wind and rain. And my bike was stolen at the weekend  and i've no funds to buy a new one at the moment, this sucks!

I'll be going for a spin tomorrow leaving city centre at around 11am. Heading out through Dundrum to Sally Gap, probably Lugala and Djouce, Enniskerry, Dundrum after that.

    If anyone interested.

Yes, had a nice spin around doing my jobs today. Even managed to pummel some small child into submission with my superior skills as he wobbled along on his oversized junker (had his school jumper on too, how he didn't pass out is beyond me).

Off out now to clean my bike, finally!

Best evening in weeks, just got the bike serviced so purred along for 40km. Warm weather makes you go faster!

Wasn't planning on going out, but couldn't resist the temptation in the end. Few times up Howth and then on to Malahide before heading back to town.

i was the same as you all today .
i had a bug all last week and did not stir out .i just could not help it this eve ,i left the road bike under the stairs and hit the white mountain on the trek .it was a tough pull up to the top of the forest road the legs were grand but the lungs were killing me .

no cars, no noise ,no matt cooper, not a care in the world .i must do it more often.

I saw you as well and said hello but it did very much look like godihatethehills beat you over the summit as she was a good 15 metres ahead of you ...... The master climber was beaten ha ha.
I was out with a mate who just picked up a new bike yesterday after it was nicked ages ago, nice evening for it though.

LOL. This is the first time in months that I've been away from the kids with my wife. I did consider bringing the bike, but divorce is really expensive.

Your doing it wrong. When I go on these away trips with the missus, she drives down and back. I cycle down and back. It works, as she doesnt really appreciate my humour while she is driving, and she dont cycle.

Same again today. Great weather, though I always seemed to have what breeze there was in my face. Shame, it brought my avg. down below the magic number.

Wow , this is brilliant two whole days and i never got wet, and it looks like it going to last at least a week.

Was so nice out that I even took a nice detour up Stocking Lane on the way home from work.

No ice-cream reward at the top though.

lovely 50km spin today around the country side with a few scenic stops. Wish we always had weather like this...

What a day. Had a lovely spin thru whats known as Galways Joyce Country. Lough NaFooey was glass smooth and reflecting the mountains. Ther is no doubt this is a beautiful country when the sun shines:D

Had a great morning yesterday until i failed to unclip in a line of traffic on john street bridge in kilkenny. Luckily about 100 cars saw me fall sideways as did another 100 pedestrians. They should be useful witnesses to my case against shimano. There's no way it could have been my incompetence.

I had a lovely spin home yesterday. I went on a bit of a detour, it was only an extra 10km but the pint at the end was lovely. I was sitting outside Ryans in Ratoath with my little fixie and a pint of Carlsberg - life doesn't get any better than that.:)

Another glorious day, if only it was like this all year round.

Heading out later to day to do the cycle route used in tomorrows Lost Sheep Half Ironman Tri, then I'm going to finish by doing some of the route used in todays Ras na mBan stage. Happy days.

Yesterday I planned on taking it easy. Then on the commute home I got dragged into a commuter race. Switched bikes at home to go for a couple of easy Howth laps with Biker Joe. Ended up hammering it all the way up with some other random roadie. Then finished with a spin around Malahide with Biker Joe who decided to make me do sprints. I can't sprint for love nor money, so got totally whipped. So an easy spin turned into me getting totally knackered. The wine and beer afterwards was awesome though :)

Actually only reason I cycle is the wine and beer (and chocolate) afterwards.

Reminds me of a scene in book A, dog in a hat, where the author claims that there are some pro cyclists who take drugs to cycle, then there are the guys who cycle to take drugs.

Only way to beat that would be to eat one of their steaks while you were at it.

That's a very good point. If you want to justify that Domino's pizza post ride, just hammer a little harder... job done.

Thank god the weather isn't like this all the time!!

The missus is feeling like a cycling widow at the moment, was out the last 3 evenings in a row, beautiful views up around the blesso lakes with the sun going down. Especially last night as the whole sky turned a pinkie red reflecting off the lakes.....

Have to work today but planning a biggie tomorrow 150k+, imagine we had this weather all summer

I would. 2-3 hours in this sun with the wind on your skin makes it feel colder than it actually is, so you wont notice the burning.

Thats pretty impressive. That would give you an average speed of somewhere just short of the 1800 kmph mark.
