There are lots of em, Stone facings, De bros etc. I have been quoted 1700 - 2600 for my granite , so lots of variations in price. Recessed drainer adds to price, drainage flutes cheaper,. If u are flexible in colour, some will have too much of say colour A and may do a deal

Egan Marble and Granite, Kilbeggan, Co.Westmeath 057 9333946

They did ours recently. Beat everyone on price and threw in windowboard also.
They travel countrywide, just ring ,ask for Linda and give her sizes

    Shop around.

We got quotes on the same area and same granite grade from €3,500 to €7,500 :eek::eek:

We went with the €3,500 and the man was excellent. He even brought us to a house that had the granite in cos we liked the colour just wasnt 100% on it. He was fast and did an excellent job.

If i could of got him to build my whole house i would cos everything was so easy and effortless with him.

We are based in the north east but i'm sure he'd travel. Where are you???

Hey all. This is a little off topic, but im living in Ashbourne and im looking to find somebody that can cut out granite worktops, i recently bought a new gas hob and the worktop needs a slight bit taken out to allow the hob to fit in. If anybody has any names or numbers if they could PM it would be great.

    Thanks

Have found Stonefacings nice to deal with. Haven't got a price yet

When you're comparing quotes make sure the supplier specifies exactly where any cuts and joins will be. Some companies will use multiple pieces to fit round cutouts for sinks and hobs and the join looks awful. If your worktop turns up with additional cuts then reject it.

Also suggest you get a price for a small ledge/splashback for the wall, this can often be done for virtually no extra money using offcuts.

I would love to hear where people got their granite worktops are we are currently looking into quote.

They are ranging from €1600 to €2350 for 5.8m & an undermount for a belfast sink.

    Are Upstands worth getting?

    Upstands?

In a word, yes. Will make the kitchen look much better with a cleaner joint at the inside edge.

This is a bit more specific but this thread looks like it has good granite suggestions already so I'll bump it.

I'm buying the Stovax insert stove - here it is with the Sorrento polished black granite frame that I want. However, I'll also need to buy a matching granite hearth. The stove shop said I could get the hearth myself but I was left uncertain about whether the granite would be matching.

Where in Ireland could I find a company that would make me both the polished granite frame for this product and a matching hearth at a competitive price?
