What is the forum's view on the 2009 Music Live Show ?

We did a couple of the early one's ( was it 3 or 4 years ago ?) but it's focus changed when Hotpress got involved, so it was less relevant to us.

I probably spent 1/5th of what I'd have to to make a reasonable stand at Music Live on our own event with no chance of making the same impact ....

Will you attend the Music Live 2009 Event ? 8 votes

I was offered a stand at it from the lovely Grace in Hotpress but I declined for this year anyway. I will be going myself this year to check it out. The event sounds very good. For a small stand it costs €1400 which is pricey if you dont see a return.

Well be working ( KnB Music ) but even putting an ad in the book for the show was really a lot. Still seems to be worthwhile just for the larger shops and dstributors.

Focus has definitely changed. Its has a bit of a Spring Show vibe to it now. Lots of kids running around.

As an aside we won the Hotpress Readers Poll last year and got to play on the Sennheiser Live Stage and win €1000's worth of Sennheiser gear so it was a good buzz for us. Can't make it this year mind.

We considered it for the first one or two. But when we went along I was kind of glad we didn't.

Interesting that ole HP is getting it in the neck.

Is that because with their getting involved the show 'changed' or just an Anti-Hotpress vibe ?

Our problem with them is that they dont seem to be helping the smaller guys much either through the show or advertising in the mag.

Do you think itd be worth having a more professional audio show Paul?

That's probably the case for a lot of people.
