I'm looking to get a battery with decent battery life for a decent price.

Let me know if you know where I can pick one up please :).

I'm also looking for a replacement Inspiron 6400 battery in the Dublin area, somewhere I can walk in and purchase?

Why not have a peek on Ebay - even delivered from China. I have already got a Dell laptop keyboard for small money, paid by PayPal. Today I got a Dell charger for same laptop, again from Ebay, and sent from China, took less than a fortnight, just put it on a shaver adapter/plug with 2 pins (easily got from shop) and off it goes - at a fraction of the cost from Dell. They were both authentic (not just compatible) products, so check there first! However, someone told me you pay customs charges on goods from USA, so hence the interest in China. I have also got mobile phone parts etc from similar suppliers, again cheaply priced. So why not have a look around the web.

    Beware Chinese cheap "Dell" parts.
I bought a Dell charger from China on ebay. It looked exactely like a Dell charger, it even worked. But on comparison with an authentic Dell charger i found that the Chinese one was significantly lighter than the authentic one i had, and after opening the chinese one i saw there was a significant difference between the two, the chinese one looked like it had been soldered together by a blind man!
Cheap batteries can be dodgey too, i've heard they fail very quickly, they have a habit of "swelling" with the heat and other problems. Not necessarily all "cheap" batteries, but it's worth keeping in mind.

I don't want to buy chinese, is there anywhere in the Dublin area that does replacement Dell batteries for the Inspiron? How much should I expect to pay for a generic one as opposed to a Dell one?

That reminds me, I need one. I bought one from these guys last year, new one arrived no bother. Unfortunately It's not holding it's charge like it use to, so it looks like I'll need another.
