I actually have a pair I could sell you. I tried to send you a pm but I have not made enough posts. Anyway I bought them last yr but never really used them as I prefer my hair curly - which it is naturally. Let me know if you are interested.. and where in the country you are?

hqhair.com is one of the cheapest AFAIK.

I got a GHD for like 100e but I don't know if the woman who sold it to me has any now. It did come in the ususal box with a CD and user manual.I used to work on Thomas street and on Meath street I've seen GHDs being sold for 100e and this could probably be lowered by haggling? This was also in the presentation box also

If you are willing to stray from GHD I found that remington is one of the best straightners before I got my GHD. Does the same job but some of their plates are a bit thick and its hard to get nice curls out of them. I got another straightner by remington (after I stuck one of my plates to some plastic ) and its plates are as thin as GHD and it curls and flicks pretty nice ;)

Some Peter Marks salons also give a discount of GHD if you give in a hair straightner or a hair dryer or something. That could also be a useful avenue to look up.

Unwanted gift, I'm sure... Be careful it's not a fake GHD, there are a lot being sold in this manner. I'd try to verify the GHD's code before handing over the money.

I got my pink one online for 130 + 10 shipping on www.givemegorgeoushair.com. I think they're an Irish website. It came with the 2 yr warranty, u just register it online at ghd.co.uk. 140 is way cheaper than any I saw in the hairdressers and it came pretty quickly.

I can verify that most of them on Donedeal.ie are fake and that the "unwanted gift" is just a scam to sell them. Ok there may be the odd genuine one but none of them on it ever want to hand over the code and when you ask them for the code they tell you "ohhh I'm holding it for someone", yet the add is still online for weeks.

    http://www.ghdlondonshop.com/

This is one of the cheapest GHD sites Ive ever come across and genuine too.

The Official GHD website checker, just check the website on this before ordering & OP, www.ghdlondonshop.com is not recognised by GHD as an official retailer.

Also Cheap GHD's can be got on Ebay for about £70 these are sold from the actual salons supplied by GHD. If you have the salon name or even just the address you can check it on the GHD salon locator and verify that they are genuine

I bought my sedu, two years ago and someone stood on it yesterday. Heartbroken, especially cause it was so expensive :( And I took it to a place that did straightener repairs and they only have GHD casings :(
But handy for anyone with a broken GHD I guess.

I just had a look at that site - it only sells two products and has no contact details for the company at all.

I would be very cautious with that site.

I got one recently in peter marks for €125.

Oh my god please tell me you didn't buy a GHD off a stall? There is no way those are genuine GHD's.

Why do people buy electrical items off market stalls?! Almost everything is counterfeit - you could be electrocuted or they could start a fire.

Yeah the new one looks really good. I almost wish mine would break - have had it about 5 years and it's still going strong. It must have had nearly 1000 uses by now :-O

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

Found it for 139GBP with free delivery on feelunique.com. Hmm, I need a new one soon...

Yeah I've had mine for 5 years too. The newer ones do feel nicer or something, but I've not reason to get one!

I had mine for 5 years, but it finally gave up on Sunday, it went out with a puff of smoke! I really need to get one quickly so will see how much Peter Mark's are charging.

Didnt think to get a code but I can guarantee that it is real as ive had one before. If it was a fake, its a damn good hair straightener with all the perks of a ghd so I wouldnt much care. You could tell it had been used once or twice and had been opened and that, but is definately real and for 50e, I was delighted. Originally they were looking for a lot more.
The dodgey ones are more likely to be those who say they are from a salon and have five or six to shift I would have thought? It was something I was aware of before I bought, and I was sure to go with a friend and see it before I bought to make sure.

I think that while there are an awful lot of dodgy deals on websites, you can get a really good deal if you keep your wits about you, and not be too suspicious of everything! I have sold things on these sites for a lot less than I would have hoped to get, and there was nothing fake about those goods!
