I'm just wondering if there is any other benefits I can apply for? I've paid enough in tax over the years to take a little back! Can you claim FIS whilst on maternity leave?

My husband was made redundant and so has gone back to uni to study engineering so he doesn't have an income that we can rely on.

I know I'm going to have to speak to the social welfare people but just thought some of you might have some idea of what we might be entitled to? I just can't see how we are supposed to live on E280 a week which is all I will be getting for the Maternity Benefit.
