    Amazing footage. Seems like yesterday.

Heard about it on the way home from school, all wrong info of course, got home and they kept replaying the planes hitting. Tough watching the towers collapsing now, don't think I can leave it on tbh.

I did too, but somehow my mind refused to take it in.
I knew it had really happened yet it was so unexpected that it failed to compute.

There is a lot of footage in this that I hadn't seen before.

I'm pissed off I missed this.. as I saw ads for it and said I must watch it!

Girlfriend was watching some "Grease High School Musical" thing. Like a glorified bastardized "School Round The Corner", but with even more children you want to punch.

    ** browses www.tvguide.co.uk for a repeat showing **

    .... not repeated! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,859 ✭✭✭✭Sharpshooter

    Can you blame them OP.
I have an uneasy feeling I would have taken that route.
At least for them it was quick and they obviously knew there was no hope.

More4 will show it again, Guaranteed. It was an excellent show ..... No voiceovers or anything, Just raw footage from random people with their phones etc.

Doesn't appear to be repeated in the next week though! :(

    Sounds superb alright.

Payback time.. I'm deleting all her soaps off Sky+!

    * evil laugh *

wow....its been over for 10 mins and still trying to process it, that was a pretty amazing film, no commentry just the sounds of eye witnesses and the emergency services...pretty hard hitting. After 8 years you kinda forget it wasn't a movie...

Probaly the most amazing piece of television I've ever seen. It's great the way theres no news reports or offical television coverage, it's just footage from the people who were on the ground...sends chills down my spine.

I rememeber seeing the people falling / jumping .

I thought at first it was falling debris from the building till I realsied it was people .

It's still so frightening to watch! Visited ground zero after nine eleven. was so upsetting reading drawings and notes kids had written to their parents who had died. Especially those of the firemen and cops that went in knowing the dangers and were trying to save people.

Horrific. thats all. Never seen footage like this before, I've a pain in my chest watching it... I'm watching on +1

I was skipping after school study that evening, up at the schools pitch at hurling training. Had something like 35 missed calls from a mate. Heard what was going on then and by some coincidence I had watched a documentary about Osama bin Laden the week before. Jokingly mentioned to the trainer that it was probably him behind it, trainer was giving me the evil eye for about 6 months after!!

    It's on from 9.00 til' 11.00 again.

    Couldn't they have picked 10.00 til' 12.00.

I fail to see how you can confuse the words '9/11 - 102 Minutes That Changed America' and 'Flight 175: As the World Watched
    ' !!

By what someone in the film said a lot of lives were saved, I heard there were up to 40,000 people working in each building, yet there where 3,000 people killed thats a lot of saved lives.

You said the show was repeated on TV3 but it's not!..... They are showing a different show!! :P

According to TV now magazine on Friday 11th September :

9.00: 102 Minutes that changed America.
A historical record of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, containing emergency radio recordings, video, and photos.

Maybe it is different in other TV guides?

i think i watched that documentary as well on Channel 4 i think. It stuck with me because it showed the Taliban executing a woman.

It didn't need words, did it?
    It spoke for itself.

I thought this was a really great piece of television. It was extremely difficult to watch, especially listening to all the emergency calls from the towers.I couldn't help but wonder how many of them made it out.
I have to agree with being bowled over by the bravery of the police officers and firemen. It really made you appreciate what a desperate situation the fire department were in.
At times I had to remind myself I was watching real footage, it was like some kind of horror film. The footage of the streets being taken over by the dust clouds was especially surreal.

i missed this but if its anything like the doc made by those 2 french filmmakers who followed a fire crew into the building im sure its good.
    here it is: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312318/

they filmed the first plane hitting tower 1, this footage
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLv5BYEty3I&feature=related

its a excellent doc, well worth the watch, available from the usual sources

It was more a collage of previously private footage from all over the city/Manhattan. I only got to watch bits of it, but is very powerful..the lack of commentary (like Euronews' no comment bit) lets you stew and really concentrate over what you're seeing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,905 ✭✭✭bucks73

I missed it tonight but I think it was on C4 a few months ago also. I remember watching a programme that was entirely made up of the publics video and phone recordings. Its on the EPG for the History channel on Friday night at 9pm also.

Was in Orlando on hols at the time and remember waking up to head out for the day and had the news on TV and saw the second plance hit. Even the news anchor didnt realise it was a second one for a few secs, he though he was watching footage of the first one.

Is this the same program that was on a few months back, not sure what channel, possibly Discovery, they had home video of people in their apartments filming it when it happened ?

Great stuff it was like the best action/adventure movie you ever saw without the corny lines or happy ending. To be fair it was even better than that French documentary because it had multiple bits of footage. Those fire guys knew it was going to fall as well you could see it on their faces.

Just caught the end of it last night and was so dissapointed I missed it. Getting it from the usual place now.
