Cycling Club - Kerry & Dublin

Hi. I am hoping to join a club for 2 purposes, company on winter training spins and to race in club leagues next spring and summer.

Can anyone recommend a club in Kerry. I am aware of Chain Gang and Earl of Desmond, but both are Tralee based. Also aware of Killorglin, but would be hassle to get to.

Is there a club in Killarney? Or anywhere close to Killarney. If so does anyone have any opinions on them?

Now just to complicate factors further, I live in Dublin from Mon thru Thur morning. So I aim to race in a Dublin club league. What club and why do people recommend to join (or avoid)?

    Thanks.

You are based out near Clonsilla/Castleknock in Dublin yeah? Stagg club in Lucan is meant to be quite good and are grouped with some other clubs(I think) for the summer league.

Well there is a club in Killarney - Killarney CC. Your contact there would be John Crowley @ crowlyne@eircom.net. They're v. active as regards MTBing and I know they certainly had some very handy road cyclists not so long ago.

If you're in Killarney town if you call in to the Big Little Bike Shop they'd be able to tell you more.

There is a Tri Club in Kenmare and they put in quite a bit of cycling. They would be your closest bet I'd say. Give Paul Tanner at Kenmare Bay Diving a shout.
