Sorry, if this has already been posted but this is news to me.

Right now http://www.rte.ie/live/ is hosting a retuers.com debate from the Shelboure Hotel. Its features Mary Lou McDonald, Dick Roche, David Begg and Nigel Farage (UKIP).

Just starting now. Should be interesting.

    Farage gone straight for immigration.

    Follows it up with Turkey.

Shocked that he avoids what Lisbon actually does...

Boom... sucker punches with the Article 48 'Big Lie'...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,155 ✭✭✭PopeBuckfastXVI

Nigel Farage is concerned I'm being 'bullied' into voting again.

    I'm ok thanks Nige...

Farage spouting on about the usual ****e about the Dutch and French being ignored and the Irish being bullied.

He really doesn't care about any sort of facts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,155 ✭✭✭PopeBuckfastXVI

So doesn't actually mention anything in Lisbon.

And he's on the 'no' side!?

    Oh christ... Dick Roche...

Not terrible so far, mind he hasn't had to talk to other people yet. :pac:

Good aul Mary Lou planting the seeds of doubt "but the decision could be overturned"...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

and the mistake is no one shoots down mary lou's *the gaurantee's are worthless* argument, that will pay dividends for her argument for days to come.

Fair play to Nigel Farage for pointing out Dick Roche's false prophecies on immigration regarding Nice.

Why the hell is Nigel Farage being invited to debate Lisbon in Ireland- if he had his way he wouldn't be allowed in our country without a visa because the EU would be dissolved.

Yes I always love to see people dragging irrelevancies into a debate. I'm sure you're delighted he didn't even mention a single article or aspect of the Lisbon treaty also...

    Here we go:

Mary Lou dragging 'the banks' into it...

I'm sure the point Farage was making was that Roche was utterly wrong on Nice and he's more than likley utterly wrong on Lisbon too.

Farage also made the point that 84% of German laws come from the EU. Another lie from Nige. So it's more than likely he's utterly wrong on Lisbon too.

I'm sure that's the inference he was trying to draw, and I'm sure there are fools who will follow it...

Other people just refer to it as an ad hominem fallacy and deal with the subject at hand...

Not nearly as wrong as Mary Lou and the rest of her ilk.

    undermine our sovereignty
bring us closer into a European Army and NATO and
relegate us to the second division of a two-tier European Union.

    Check out all this BS

Farage again attacks the Euro... nothing to do with Lisbon...

You're not in blighty anymore Nige, get with the programme...

Farage's response to Laffen was to attack her character. Well done.

Mary Lou doesn't care what the treaty does, just what it says...

Good question thrown at ML. Apparently 26 member will states out to get us later on and reverse the commissioner decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,155 ✭✭✭PopeBuckfastXVI

ML: Intel doesn't recognise Unions and they are calling for a Yes!

I wonder does David Begg recognise Unions...

Farage lies about legal status about guarantees...

    Edit:
    F*cking pulled up on it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,132 ✭✭✭Dinner

Seems like Farage is trying to fill the space left by Ganley.

I'm not sure who I dislike more.

    Farage's guy hit's back with Nice 1 & immigration.

Do they have any other points... you know, one's related to the treaty?

Oh wait he does! No to Lisbon to berid us of FF!

Ganley is a far more polished performer. Farage relies on theatrics. I don't think that Farage will make much of an impact here.

ML: You say people with a 'different point of view' are liars.

Didn't he actually say people who tell lies are liars!?

I think he will have a big impact, and I look forward to seeing more of him in debates.

Just to clarify, by impact I mean ability to convince people of his position. ;)

Isn't mad that SF are now the most respectable face of the NO campaign.

Interesting. I thought I'd go and see how the same debate played out on politics.ie...and there were these two comments:
I assume you are a Monnet professor?

    Effectively paid to indoctrinate people.....

    Ouch.

    That's by a poster called He3.
Fair play to Nigel Farrage for pointing out Roche's false prophesies on immigration regarding Nice.

That's by FutureTaoiseach, who is not unknown here. You have posted the same comments word for word - would you like to give an explanation that casts you in an extremely creditable light?

    moderately,

Thank christ she'll never be in charge of a ministerial portfolio...

Even more unlikely now that she has no electoral mandate what so ever.

Defeated for the Dáil, and now defeated as a MEP - she's a bit of a slow learner...
