Student Assistance Fund...How Much???

Im startin in dit next week and I want to apply for the student assistance fund. Does anyone know how much they might give you? because theres no info anywhere about the amounts you may recieve. Also i had a friend tell me that you can choose how much you want each week..Is that true??? Im so confused.:(

Hi Barbarossa,

The Student Assistance Fund is means tested, so the amount you get will be dependent to some extent on how much your income is and how much you have to spend on rent and other things. I'm not aware of anybody being able to choose how much you get each week or anything like that . The best advice I can give you is to go and talk to Aimee O'Callaghan or Jen Jordan (they're very helpful ) in the Students' Union and they'll talk you through the application.
