The fed-up local created a Facebook group 'The Parson Cross Crew Named and Shamed' calling for residents to identify the brutes.
Joe Brent-Mitchell, 23, and Jamie Howden, 18, both from the city's Parson Cross council estate, were each jailed for four-and-a-half years after police were alerted to the photographs.
Each had posed sitting smirking astride a moped holding the same shotgun. The weapon was never found.
Both pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm after experts confirmed the shooter could not have been an imitation.
Lewis Barker, 17, pictured brandishing a handgun, also received three years for possessing a sawn-off shotgun in an offence unrelated to the photographs.
David Faulkner, 20, of Parson Cross, was jailed for two years for the same crime.
Supt Andy Barrs, of South Yorkshire Police, said officers arrested several members of the gang after investigating the snaps.
He added: "We were already aware of some of the pictures but found out about others through the resident's website.

"The message from us is that anyone who openly parades with weapons on the internet should expect a call, in the form of officers executing an early morning search warrant with forced entry."
Parents of other youths pictured on the website are being warned they may be evicted from their council houses if they do not bring their sons under control.
Supt Barrs said police were "pushing for legislation around websites", including a specific offence for displaying weapons.
