Right, I'm about to venture into the world of music production in a few weeks, but I've realised I can't be close-minded about certain music..... So what I'm wondering is, if you had to pick five albums that demonstrates a band + producer shifting the goalposts in terms of a certain sound/ genre, what would those top 5 be.......?!

hmmm for me would have to be

Martin Hannet & Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Butch Vig & Nirvana - Nevermind
    Tony Visconti & David Bowie - Low,Heroes
    George Martin - The Beatles
Chris Tomas - The Sex Pistols

all pretty influential producers and records loads more out there too!

T-Bone Burnett & Counting Crows (August and Everything After is an awesome debut)
Springsteen & Jon Landau (Born to Run - massive jump from the first two albums)

    Takk - Sigur Ros
    Moon Pix - Cat Power
Love is Hell _ Ryan Adams
Lungs - Florence and the Machine

Not alot of old-school in there you might notice!
