Cisco DPC2100 - Not syncing - Cable modem light blinks

A while ago I unplugged the cable modem's f-connector and then I reconnected it (wires got tangled). I turned off the modem, left it 30 seconds, powered it back on.

The modem refuses to sync now, the power comes on, cable light blinks away and never goes solid.

    Any ideas?

did you plug out the power to the modem first? afaik there's quite a bit of power going through it, you're not supposed to mess with it when the modem is powered.

try plugging the f-connector out and back in again (witht the power pulled obviously) and checking the connection again?

Yep, the modem was off all the time during the messing with the wires.

It was fine the next morning after leaving it off all night. Then I went back to work adding a splitter and it wouldn't sync when I powered it on again. So I removed the splitter and left it exactly as the installer guy did..still no sync and powering it off all night didn't help this time around.

Into the bargain, the service was dead slow before this started happening (for a few hours beforehand) and now I've got a snowy reception on the TV too. I've tried different F-Connector cables and still no joy..

i'd be inclined to put everything back the way you found it and call them and tell them "it just stopped working". :)

Yep, that's precisely what I did there today. Funny thing is, I wasn't telling a lie, because when it wasn't working before I put in the splitter, and it didn't work after.

Found out that the cause of the problem was that the TV downstairs decided it'd be a good idea to put 110v back down the line, frying the splitter in the box outside ...snowy TV and no Cable broadband was the result. Different TV, new splitter in the box outside and voila, internets!

Hey mine is doing some weird stuff too. It recognizes my computer but all four of the other lights just keep flashing in unison. My cable provider says they show everything is working fine on their end. Anybody have this happen or have any pointers they could give me?
