The story is I am on jobseekers but have the offer of a saturday gig as a sole trader.

This work so far is not worth coming off jobseekers. Ive been told to set up a ltd company. now aside from the whole audit fee attached to that in order to have audited accounts to submit to cro, I also didnt think I could claim jobseekers if I had a ltd company. To be honest the ltd co thing is something that seems like a whole load of hassle to me.

I want to pay tax on the saturday gig but its not enough to come off the jobseekers for. Anybody have any advice for me?

    Thanks a mil

u dont have to submit audited accounts if all of the following apply

if your turnover is < 7.3million
ur assets at year end <3.65 million
    employess < 50
    not part of a group

and u submit your un-audited accounts + return with an audit exemption statement on time

If the saturday thing you're doing is only earning you a few quid, then no way should you set up a limited company.

Have a look at the Back to work enterprise allowance, you might qualify.
