Just got a call this afternoon from a UPS customer services rep to let me know that BB, Telephone and TV is now available in my area of Mullingar. Brookfield/College Hill area.

Seriously thinking of going for all 3.

Appear to have got a definitive answer from chorus today in relation to service available. All the activity around Mullngar is to upgrade the TV from analogue to digital. No BB or telephone available for the foreseeable future.

I am not going to bother taking the TV on the basis that BB might be available in a years time.

So just have to plod along with my eircom package

 highly disgusted with there lack of vision, here's some cable we might put something decent down it in a few years im not happy was hoping for 20mb of unlimited* broadband.

*250gb's worth but way better than digiwebs rolling 50gig cap

Pretty shortsighted to me. Upgrading the infracstructure and not adding BB and telephone. Cannot understand it.

I suspect they will not recover any of their investment until all services are offered. How many current tv users will upgrade to digital - not many. How many new users are there who want the full package - a lot.

It sounds highly unlikely that they won't offer broadband and telephone services over that infrastructure. It can take a while for their databases and customer care teams to have the correct information though.

There would be absolutely no point in them recabling an area then not offering those services.

I would expect that you will see them come on stream as soon as they upgrade 'head end' equipment.

You might be just right Solair.

Got another call, they will be able to offer BB and telephone by the end of this month.

Nobody seemed to inform their sales department.

    Fingers crossed

Full servics will be available very soon allright but their sales agents are still not fully aware of it!! I notice the cabling has been completed back to the main exchange in town in recent days where presumably they are linking into the E|NET MAN fibre infrastructure.

Knowing what they're like, they probably think they're digging in Athlone
