Would you have picked Bopara for the one day game against Aus

To me he was using it to try and get back in the test squad instead of playing it as an one day game.

49 runs from 88 balls is extremely slow for one day.

If he continues to play in this fashion would you drop him even if he scores 49 again from 90 balls?

He's relatively young (24), and seen more of a one-day specialist (because of his all-round ability) than a Test player (hence his demand in the IPL). England clearly see him as one for the future, and the best way to rehabilitate him is in the one day team. If he flourishes there, he will force his way back into the test squad for the your of SA
